What Is A Plastic Greenhouse?

The greenhouse, also known as the plastic greenhouse, is an arched shed-type thermal insulation facility that is made of columns, tie rods, arch rods and pressure rods as skeletons and covered by plastic films. Plastic greenhouses mainly rely on solar radiation to heat up and do not require heating facilities. It has the advantages of simple structure, convenient construction, disassembly and assembly, and less investment, but compared with the solar greenhouse, the thermal insulation effect is poor, the temperature changes rapidly, and the daily temperature difference is large. Therefore, the main production seasons of the greenhouse are spring, summer and autumn. At this time, the temperature of the greenhouse can be maintained at a suitable growth temperature of 15-30 °C by means of heat preservation and ventilation. In the Beijing area, the greenhouse temperature for pepper cultivation in early spring can be increased by 2 to 4 °C. Using a multi-layer film to cover the insulation effect is better, but the light transmittance is reduced.

Commonly used plastic greenhouses mainly include bamboo or bamboo wood structure, cement structure and prefabricated galvanized steel pipe structure. Bamboo and wood structure plastic greenhouses are widely used in Northeast China, North China, Northwest China and Huanghuai area. There are various forms of greenhouse construction. The construction forms of a single greenhouse are mainly arched and ridged. The multi-span greenhouse covers a large area, the land is fully utilized, and the temperature in the greenhouse is high and stable. Figure 2 shows the different types of greenhouses. In spring, it is better to extend the light conditions in the east-west direction in the greenhouse for the cultivation of Chaotian pepper.
